|Assessment Institute: how we report student achievement|
Dr. Andrew Ho will also lead a half-day workshop in conjunction with the COSA/EESC Oregon Summer Assessment Institute that promises to change the way we think about reporting student achievement. Dr. Ho’s workshop is hosted by REL Northwest at Education Northwestand can be attended for free independent of registration to the full Assessment Institute. The Institute, set for August 11-12 at the Eugene Hilton, is designed to help assessment and curriculum leaders, as well as principals and teacher leaders, successfully plan for the coming year.
Dr. Ho’s engaging workshop will challenge the way we report on educational improvement over time and progress toward closing achievement gaps. It will include discussions of proficiency rate interpretations, and an opportunity to apply Dr. Ho’s recommendations to timely and relevant student data. An award-winning researcher from Harvard University, Dr. Ho will share alternative strategies for reporting student achievement data to various stakeholder groups.
