It’s the end of the first week and there have been no major surprises as lawmakers introduced their legislation for the first regular annual session of the legislature. Here is a list of bills we are following. You will notice that the bill numbers are hyperlinked and will get you access to a copy of the bills we are following. This first week bills are generally getting a quick vetting by legislators, lobbyists and the public. A few public hearings have been held. The big one earlier this week featured Gov. John Kitzhaber outlining his bill (SB 1581) to flesh out the Oregon Education Investment Board placing P-20 education policy making and management under one board with a Chief Education Officer at the controls.

future along with bills up for full action by the Legislature. If you’d
