|Conference speaker offers insights about today's parents and students|
For those who are seeking to better understand -- and more effectively work with -- today's students and parents, renowned "Millennials Rising" author Neil Howe's keynote address at the OACOA/OASE Winter Conference, set for January 31-February 2 at Salishan, is a must.
Howe is a nationally-recognized historian, demographer and economist. His presentation will demographically outline today's culture, as well as discuss systematic school reform in the context of best meeting the needs and challenges of the students and parents we currently serve. A co-founder (with Williams Strauss, the original conference keynote speaker who passed away December 18) of LifeCourse Associates, Howe has co-authored six books.
The three-day conference has a different focus each day (see draft program). Day one, which features Howe, is themed "Leading the Next Generation." Day two, aimed at high school reform, is themed "Rethinking Resources for Student Success." Day three is themed, "This Year's Key Issues in Collective Bargaining." Each day features a general session and breakout sessions (see sample sessions). Breakout topics include leadership, personnel, testing, funding, contract negotiations, academic achievement and systematic school-wide reform.Register for the conference today. Make reservations at Salishan by calling 1-800-452-2300 and asking for the special COSA rate.
