Experienced superintendents and principals shared such topics as:
Speakers from TSPC, OBSA, OEA, OSEA participated as well. In addition to gaining a wealth of knowledge, new bonds were formed among participants. "It was exciting to see new principals from though out the state sharing information and friendship," COSA Director of Professional Development Colin Cameron said. "They will be a great support to each other during their journey as new principals." Comments from participants included: "I came in questioning why I left a teaching job I loved to become a principal ... I leave very excited about my new direction." "Lots of great tips from voices of experience." "Very well organized academy. The pace moved quickly and was varied. Well worth my time." Two additional sections of the academy will take place in October and March to give added support to our new principals. Topics will focus on supervision and evaluation, hiring practices, and budget and finance. |
