|Oregon Superintendent of the Year nominations sought|
It is that time of year to consider nominating an outstanding colleague for the 2010 Superintendent of the Year. The award is presented annually at the Oregon School Board Association’s annual convention in November and at the OASE/OACOA Winter Conference in January.
A candidate must be a current superintendent with the intent to continue in the profession; the award is not intended to honor a retiring member. In addition, the candidate should be a current member of AASA, as well as COSA. Nominations may come from principals, school board members or fellow superintendents.
When nominating an individual, please follow the guidelines set by COSA. Completed 2010 Superintendent of the Year applications should be mailed to COSA staff member Nancy Moen, rather than sending it to AASA, as it states on the form. As in the past, we have modified the process slightly to increase participation.
For the initial round of judging, candidates should complete all parts of the application, except the six essay questions. That completed portion, minus the essay questions, is due into the COSA office by September 30. A committee will review the applications and select a winner. At that time, the winner will complete the six essay questions, and the entire application will be mailed to AASA.
For questions, contact Nancy Moen.
