Nancy
J. Hungerford of Oregon City works exclusively for Oregon
and Washington
school districts, currently representing more than 75 different districts. A former teacher, small business owner,
newspaper editor, personnel director for the North Clackamas School District,
and. since 1981, school and labor attorney, she has extensive background, both
from experience and continuing research and writing in school law. For 15 years she was the author of OSBA's
quarterly School Law Reporter; she continues as editor of a bi-monthly
newsletter, Oregon She is the author
of the handbook/texts, Oregon Labor Law Today and OregonSchool Law Today. She has taught school law for PortlandState
University, collective Bargaining and
contract management for Lewis & ClarkCollege and University
of Oregon's educational administration
programs, and public sector labor law as an adjunct professor at Northwestern
School of Law at Lewis &
Clark College. Nancy has bargained more than 200 collective
bargaining agreements in the past 16 years, has assisted in the development and
management of more than 150 plans of assistance for school district employees,
and is a veteran of many Fair Dismissal Appeals Board, Employment Relations
Board, arbitration, due process, and civil rights hearings. Nancy
spends almost 100% of her time working for school districts.
