Job Title: Coordinator of Student Support Services
Salary Range: Administrative Salary Schedule Reports to: Dir of Student Support Services
To coordinate student support services in conjunction with the Director of Student Support
Services for improved student achievement.
Essential Job Functions:
Plans and develops programs or services for the needs of students through consultations with District personnel, community members, parents, and governmental agencies.
Directs the implementation of programs or services by providing technical assistance, training, and guidance; supervising special resource groups, and monitoring and coordinating activities with outside agencies.
Provides technical assistance to District staff relative to program development, instructional methods, materials, equipment, and facilitation.
Evaluates the effectiveness of programs and services through specified programs evaluation procedure and through consultation with District personnel, and makes recommendations to school and central administrators for program or services improvement.
When requested by principals, assists in the screening of applicants and in the evaluation of teachers and aides based on competencies per the district teacher evaluation program.
Monitors pre-referral and IEP process in buildings to assure compliance with federal, state, and District rules. Provides technical assistance and training when necessary.
Assists with staff assignments, selection, recommendation of staff hiring and termination, recommends renewal or nonrenewal of contracts for licensed and classified staff.
Evaluates performance of all subordinates as designated by Director.
Monitors Private School and Home School Services as it relates to Special Education and Section 504 programs.
Provide district representation and guidance on placements of students outside the district.
Develops, directs, and evaluates the district special ed compliance through Systems Performance Review & Improvement process.
Makes long-range plans and program projections regarding program improvements, staff training, and facility needs.
Responsible for being familiar with the school/district policies and procedures which govern the work.
Prompt and regular attendance is required.

Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Participates in various meetings and professional development activities for the purpose of sharing information and/or improving one's skills/knowledge.
Essential Job Requirements - Qualifications:
Valid Oregon Administrative License.
Vaccinated Against COVID-19
Minimum of five years of successful public school teaching experience.
Background in teaching, guidance, counseling, special education and alternative education.
Knowledge of instruction, curriculum and assessment and strategies to improve student achievement.
Knowledge and understanding of regulations related to IDEA and its reauthorization.
Knowledge and understanding of strategies to improve student behavior.
Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously as a team member.
Ability to plan, organize, and work without close supervision.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with District personnel and the public.
Maintain confidential information and the privacy of District staff, students, and families.
Carry out work responsibilities effectively under pressure of deadlines, interruptions, and new or emergency situations.
Ability to work with a diverse population.
Ability to respect confidential information.
Basic computer skills to include use of word processing programs, database programs, knowledge of the Internet and use of a modem.

The noise level in the work environment varies but is usually moderate.
Terms of Employment: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with Board policy on evaluation of administrative staff.
