What you will do:

Be an advisor to the Chief Information Officer regarding information systems including: network infrastructure, server utilization, access management, network and computer defense analysis and support, systems log aggregation and review for the Early Learning Division. This position supports network and computer defense analysis and support for the Division by collecting, managing and reviewing access logs, monitoring network equipment, enforcing information security policies and procedures, and working with Enterprise Information Services and developers to identify and remediate errors on production servers. This position is a technical expert in the design, recommendation and use in regards to end user devices, applications, network configurations, user access management, WAN routers, LAN switches, protocol use and configuration, software and hardware configurations of client PCs, server administration, maintenance and administration of Division system servers and implementation of service level agreements with clients and supported state agencies as well as providing staff training on the use of the technologies listed as well as information security best practices.

What we are looking for:

(a) Six (6) years of information systems experience in: Network Administration or Engineering; OR
(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND four (4) years of information systems experience in: Network Administration or Engineering; OR
(c) Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND two (2) years of information systems experience in: Network Administration or Engineering; OR
(d) Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

Desired Attributes

Expertise and demonstrated experience in the design, setup, and administration of network and communication hardware such as network routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
Expertise and demonstrated experience in the configuration and administration of network systems such as Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Identity and Access Management (IAM), Firewall rules, etc.
Expertise and demonstrated experience in monitoring IT systems and administering security controls such as system log review, security audits, eDiscovery, etc.
Expertise and demonstrated experience in the vendor and relationship management such as contract administration, procurement, Service Level Agreement (SLA) monitoring, etc.
Expertise and demonstrated experience with complex communication, coordination, and collaboration with technical and non-technical staff, and partner agencies.
Expertise and demonstrated experience translating an organization's mission, vision, and values into technology systems and in identifying and addressing systemic barriers to equity and inclusion.
