185 days per year
Four-day student school week

LOCATION:
Ashwood Elementary School is a one-room school in rural Ashwood, Oregon, approximately 45 minutes from Madras, Oregon. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about student success, enjoys working independently, and wants to work in a quiet, quaint environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicant must hold or qualify for an appropriate Oregon Teaching Certificate.
Desire and ability to work with a team in a small/rural school.
Familiarity with a variety of age appropriate instructional, assessment and classroom management strategies that reflect current research on best practices.
Experience working with K-3 preferred.
Reading Endorsement preferred.
Familiarity with state standards and curriculum frameworks preferred.
Ability to scaffold learning materials to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to exhibit professionalism and effective human relations.
Ability to effectively manage and supervise students and their work.
Ability to direct the work of other staff members.
Ability to develop lessons that prepare students for academic and social success.
Infant/Child First Aid and CPR certification, or the ability to obtain certification within two months of hire required.
A positive role model for the school/community.
The desire to become an active member of the Ashwood school community.
