SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Athletic Director (AD) is an Vice-Principal administrative position responsible for overseeing all aspects of athletics, music, and other student activities sponsored by KUHS. The AD is a proven leader who will improve student achievement and success through athletics and activities.

Oversees all aspects of athletic programs sponsored by Klamath Union High School.
Actively promotes athletic participation at District elementary schools and middle school.
Coordinates the hiring and training of athletic and coaching staff.
Ensures coaching compliance to safety standards and trainings are met.
Provides supervision and evaluation of the competency and professional conduct of athletic staff and coaches.
Prepares school athletic budget and purchases team equipment and supplies needed on an annual basis.
Schedules athletic games and events and collaborates with coaches for practices, games, and locations and attends all monthly conference AD meetings, and yearly required OSAA meetings.
Oversees care and use of shared equipment, playing locations, and officiating coordination.
Ensures attention to media reporting and that appropriate information is provided to local newspaper and broadcasting agencies.
Coordinates student athlete compliance to participation and academic eligibility requirements.
Follows NCAA, OSAA, and District/school policies and guidelines.
Currently the administrator in charge of overseeing district music program.

Excellent skills in planning, organization, and leadership.
Interpersonal skills to address concerns from students, parents, and public.
Public relations experience in promoting athletics at the high school and district-wide.
This position answers directly to the school principal, and indirectly to the superintendent and school board.
Teaching/Coaching/Administrative experience.
Music background or experience, preferred.
Ability to provide observations and evaluation of licensed PE/Health teachers and classified staff.
Hold, or qualify for, appropriate Oregon Administrative License through Teacher Standards and Practices Commission.

225-day contract; member of the Klamath Falls School Administrators group
The Athletic Director is expected to work supervising evening and weekend athletic events.

SALARY: $96,275 based on the 2021- 22 Wage Table.
