ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL - LORNA BYRNE MIDDLE SCHOOL

Three Rivers School District and Lorna Byrne Middle School are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, forward thinking collaborative leader who is dedicated to high standards and the success of all students. Candidates must have strong instructional leadership, problem solving, and communication necessary to promote increased student achievement through continuous improvement, educational innovation, and student-centered learning environments. Candidates must also be experienced in utilization and analysis of data to inform instructional decisions. Summary:
This position assists the principal in providing instructional leadership for staff and builds relationships with all students and supports them in acquiring the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes to be successful in high school and beyond.

Responsibilities:

1. Assists in supervising, evaluating, and facilitating the improvement of the instructional and guidance programs of the building.
2. Supervises and evaluates assigned building personnel; develops appropriate recommendations for staff which may involve providing staff professional development.
3. Promotes the school and the district with staff, students, families, and the community; responsible for student welfare and strong student, family, and community relationships; exercises good judgment in dealings with students, staff, parents, community members and outside agencies.
4. Supervises the Student Management Program and administers discipline to students; supervises students in lunchroom, in hallways, on school grounds, and in any program held at the school under school district sanction; provides leadership and direction to assist the principal in emergency situations.
5. Assists in student placement.
6. Prepares reports, analyzes, and utilizes the data to lead program improvement within the building.
7. Supervises school safety program; coordinates periodic drills for fire, air raid and earthquake to ensure compliance with district, state and federal regulations.
8. Participates at staff meetings and in-service training programs sponsored by the principal and/ or the district; maintains and updates knowledge and skill necessary for success in the position by participating in professional development activities as needed or as assigned.
9. Maintains a high standard of ethics in all professional relationships, actions, and decisions.
10. Organize, plan, and cover Athletic Duties and adhere to district and Southern Oregon Middle School Athletic Conference bylaws and procedures.

OTHER JOB DUTIES:
Performs related duties as assigned.

CONDITIONS:
May be asked to attend meetings and activities beyond regular work hours; required to travel within the district and the community; and may be asked to occasionally travel out of district.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree with successful teaching experience at the desired level and preferred successful administrative experience; or any combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the work.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.

Must have a valid Oregon Administrator License or the ability to have an Oregon Administrator License by July 2022.
