Morrow County School District is accepting applications for the position of Vice Principal at Riverside Jr/Sr High School in Boardman, Oregon, to begin July 1, 2023. Riverside Jr/Sr High School has a staff of 54 and a student population of approximately 495. Position will remain open until filled.
Morrow County is located in rural north central Oregon, bordered on the north by the Columbia River and timbered by the Umatilla National Forest on the southern border. There are 9 campuses, approximately 2275 students and 320 staff. Applicant must possess or be able to obtain Oregon administrator license. Administrative experience is preferred.
The vice principal has the primary responsibility of handling of discipline situations that are referred to the office. In addition, the vice principal works under the direction and as an administrative team member with the building principal. Other duties would include hall and lunch room supervision, supervision at activities, staff evaluation, attendance officer, assume responsibility for the overall functioning of the building, staff, and students when the principal is not present, and other duties as assigned by the principal. Other responsibilities include assisting the principal in maintaining a pleasant and productive school environment for all students and staff.
Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience.
A valid Oregon administrators license or ability to obtain one prior to start date.
Experience leading professional development and instructional improvement to include a variety of effective instructional strategies and classroom management techniques.
The knowledge of state and district aligned initiatives to help all students achieve high standards.
Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, families, staff, administration and community partners.
Hold a valid Driver’s License.
Alternatives to the listed qualifications may be considered by the Superintendent.
Evidence of demonstrated participation and leadership in professional activities related to improved student achievement.
Ability to facilitate both building and district level professional development, to include embedded learning opportunities for staff.
Experience working with and/or as an Instructional Coach.

RULE TITLE: COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements for Teachers and School Staff
RULE SUMMARY: The intention of OAR 333-019-1030 is to help prevent and slow the spread of COVID-19 by requiring teachers, school staff, volunteers, and school-based program staff and volunteers who work in schools to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or request a medical or religious exception.
Effective, October 19, 2021 teachers, school staff, volunteers, and school-based program staff and volunteers must provide the school or school-based program with either:
* Proof of vaccination showing they are fully vaccinated; or
* Documentation of a medical or religious exception
The successful candidate will be asked to provide the documentation during the on-boarding process.
