Athletic Director

Pilot Rock Junior-Senior High School is looking for an Athletic Director for the 2022-2023 school year. The position pays $4,000-$5,376 per year depending on experience.
The job description is as follows:

QUALIFICATIONS

* Strong background in athletics
* Able to establish good relationships with students, coaches, and parents
* Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

* Work under the direct supervision of the school principal. Any major changes to the program shall begin with a recommendation to the principal and superintendent
* Schedule all contests with input of head coaches and the approval of the superintendent and principal
* Coordinate transportation to all athletic events
* Make necessary arrangements for securing and paying officials
* Represent Pilot Rock School District at league athletic meetings
* Keep the master schedule of athletic events up to date and coordinate athletic events with other school activities
* Ensure that the athletic schedules are accessible to the public
* Supervise eligibility reporting
* Ensure that student-athletes have obtained necessary parental permission forms, insurance coverage, and physical examinations
* Make recommendations for the care, maintenance, development, and improvement of the athletic fields, the gymnasiums, and athletic equipment and uniforms
* Consult with principal concerning the athletic budget
* In consultation with the principal, the athletic director shall evaluate the performance of all athletic coaches in a timely manner. The evaluations will be completed and discussed with the high school principal. The evaluations will be formally discussed with all coaches
* Help to promote total athletic program in the district
* Order athletic awards such as letters and certificates
* Organize and oversee athletic banquets
* Attend and supervise home athletic events
* Responsible for the total performance of the District's athletic program, including any and all areas which would normally be part of such a program and not specifically denoted herein
* Comply with district performance standards as follows:

- Be punctual, dependable, and complete assigned work in a timely manner
- Follow instructions and accept suggestions in a positive manner
- Work with others in a cooperative and positive manner

- Deal with students and the public in a pleasant and courteous manner
- Take proper care and demonstrate a concern for supplies and equipment
- Communicate with supervisor about concerns
- Keep employee and school business confidential
- Maintain a friendly and cooperative attitude around supervisors, staff, students, and the general public
* Other duties as assigned by the superintendent and/or principal

Performance of this job will be evaluated by the superintendent/principal in accordance with procedure established by the Board
