Tara Thomas is the Senior Government Affairs Manager at AASA, The School Superintendents Association, where she monitors, evaluates, and influences the legislative and regulatory actions of the federal government. In this role, represents AASA’s advocacy priorities on Capitol Hill including appropriations, child nutrition, early childhood, rural and higher education.  Prior to joining AASA, Tara was a Policy Associate for the Girl Scouts of the USA public policy office. She began her career in the Florida House of Representatives working for the then-ranking member of the k12 education committee.
