The start date of this position will be July 1, 2024. This is a 225 day contract.

Rate of Pay: TBD for the 2024-2025 school year. Currently $106,104-$123,111, DOE

Insurance: Generous Health, dental, and vision contribution from the district, currently up to $2,179 (based upon family coverage), TBD for 2024-2025.

PERS Retirement: The district assumes and pays the 6% average employee contribution to the Oregon PERS system.

Retiree Benefits: An administrator who retires from KFCS and from PERS, with at least ten consecutive years of experience as an administrator in the district immediately prior to retirement, will receive the following retirement benefits:

One percent (1%) of the administrator's final base salary per month for a total of eight-four (84) months.

AND

Medical insurance premiums for the administrator and spouse (if necessary) for a total of eighty-four (84) months. When an administrator retires, the District will contribute up to the employee only cap or the employee-spouse cap. Should the district contribution be insufficient to pay for the monthly cost of the insurance, then the parties agree that the excess insurance premium contribution will be made by the retiree.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION:

Klamath Falls City School District is looking for an Assistant Principal to lead, implement, and achieve the vision, mission and strategic goals for grades 9-12. The Assistant Principal provides a wide variety of services to assist the Principal in the administration of the school. The Assistant Principal of Student & Curriculum will be responsible for the daily management of all high school academic initiatives and support staff members in developing a strong school culture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provides the on-site administration and instructional leadership of the high school.

* Assists in the evaluation and supervision of all certified and classified staff.

* Responsible for the direction of the instructional program and staff development program.

* Oversees the District's CTE programs.

* Responsible for the buildings 504s.

* Developes the Master Schedule.

* Oversees the coordination of staff and student activities and facilitating successful community relations.

* Attends and supervises school-sponsored activities.

CONDITIONS:

Required to attend meetings and activities beyond regular work hours; required to travel within the district and the community.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

Master’s degree and successful experience as a teacher or assistant principal at the desired level; or any combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the work.

Licenses/Special Requirements

Must hold or be qualified for an Oregon Administrative License through TSPC;
A record of exemplary teaching and administrative experience;
A record of successful community relations;
An understanding of high school programs, concepts and research.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Three years of administrative experience to include grades 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th ;
Knowledge of effective schools research; best practices and evidence-based instructional strategies;
Understanding of the Oregon State Standards, Oregon Statewide Assessment;
Knowledge of instructional technology;
Classroom experience at the high school level;
Experience with continuous school improvement, staff development, strategic planning and the high school concept;
