OASSA sponsors three awards each year – the Assistant Principal of the Year, Middle School Principal of the Year, and High School Principal of the Year.  For members wishing to nominate a colleague, please follow the guidelines below:

Middle and High School Principal of the Year (POY)

Do you know a middle or high school principal who is making an extraordinary difference for students, staff, and their community? Now is the time to recognize their leadership and impact!

Nominations are officially open for Oregon’s Secondary Principals of the Year:  one middle school and one high school recipient to be honored.

Eligibility

Nominees must:

• Be an active middle or high school principal
• Be a current member of OASSA and NASSP
• High School and Middle School Principal Eligibility: https://nasspawards.org/poy/eligibility

How to Nominate:

Submit your online nomination form.

Deadline: All nominations must be submitted by 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

Selection Process:

• Nominations will be reviewed by the OASSA Executive Committee
• Oregon’s honorees will be notified in late November 2025
• Selected principals will then be invited to complete the national application by December 15, 2025.
