POSITION: High School Head Football Coach

COMPENSATION: 2026-2027 stipend $4,584

REPORTS TO: Athletic Director

TERMS: 2026-2027 Season

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of sport, preparation and strategy, and the fundamentals and intricacies of coaching football. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. High school coaches must complete required coach certifications before contact with student athletes. New district employees must pass a criminal background check upon being hired per OAR 581-22-1730; Fingerprinting of subject individuals in positions not requiring licensure.

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for coaching student athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill and character , as well as an appreciation for discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks…
Supervise athletes during practices, competitions, and other team-related events.
Coordinate practices in order to prepare and condition athletes for competition.
Coach athletes during competition, encouraging them to use their individual skills, while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and character.
Maintain a positive demeanor both personally and as a team while interacting with athletes, opponents, officials, and spectators.
Knowledgeable and compliant with the rules and regulations of the sport.
Head coaches supervise assistant coach(es) and/or volunteers if applicable.
Responsible for the proper care and inventory of supplies, equipment, and uniforms. Recommend purchase of such items as needed.
Maintain necessary records and complete required paperwork in a specified time and manner.
