QUALIFICATIONS:

MA in School Counseling
Hold or be able to obtain an Oregon School Counselor License through TSPC
Hold an authorization level of secondary students, grades 9-12
Prior experience providing college/career counseling is preferred
Ability to provide social/emotional support, implement college & career readiness and guide academic planning for students
Be a strong advocate for student needs, offering instruction that promotes mental health awareness, academic growth and career success
Ensuring a holistic counseling approach through collaboration with school staff, parents and the broader community is crucial
Assist School Administrators in the planning and implementing of school related programs and events
Professional educator with a passion for the content and an ability to inspire students
Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
Understand and follow Standards for Competent and Ethical Performance of Oregon Educators

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

*Tillamook Education Association is currently in negotiations. For reference, information provided is based on the 2022-2026 Negotiated Agreement between TSD9 and TEA. Actual terms of employment and benefits may vary depending upon ratification of the upcoming TEA Agreement.

Estimated start date – August 2026
1.0 FTE – 190-day contract (191-day for new teachers)
2026/27 Salary Schedule - to be determined.
2025/26 school year base salary $47,048 - $87,523 dependent on years of teaching experience and college credits as per the TEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

$140/month contributed to HRA VEBA to help offset out of pocket medical expenses
Total insurance benefit package of over $22,500 annually
$500/month cash stipend if you have other insurance and waive district insurance
District paid employee contribution to PERS (Public Employees Retirement System)
TSD9 covers the full 6% for PERS retirement
