Chris Spetzler

Chris Spetzler, Executive Director of Decision Education Foundation (DEF), is passionate about bringing Decision Skills to young people. In 2019, Chris supported Junction City HS in successfully launching a 9th Grade Success class built around Decision Skills that reached all 9th grade students. Chris lead the development of StrongStart, DEF’s summer bridge program for incoming 9th graders proven effective at small rural and large urban districts over successive summers (Fern Ridge, 4J, Bethel, Springfield, Portland, Junction City). In addition to developing and delivering Decision Skills programs to educators and youth, Chris supports organizations in evaluating the benefits of decision education. Chris taught Decision Quality to educators through Stanford Center for Professional Development and continues to work with students through Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies. Chris has worked with diverse schools and student groups internationally, and delivered online courses to tens of thousands through NovoEd. Prior to DEF, Chris applied decision analytic principles to developing life-saving drugs with Pharsight and Johnson & Johnson. Chris completed a Masters degree in Education at Stanford and an MBA at Thunderbird.
