COSA Announces Partnership with Pearson Online and Blended Learning

COSA is proud to announce a new business partner relationship with Pearson Online and Blended Learning.  Founded in 1844 Pearson, the world’s learning company provides products and services that are used by millions of teachers and learners around the globe every day.
Through COSA, our member districts will enjoy discounted pricing on all Pearson Online and Blended Learning products and services and each sale will also fund the activities of the COSA Foundation, specifically for mentoring and training of new administrators.
Some of the solutions available to COSA member districts include:

  • Virtual School in a Box - Pearson's turnkey solution for school districts seeking a full-time, district-run online school program; complete with online courses, a world-class technology platform (learning management system), and professional development for teachers.
  • The District Backup Plan - a "continuity of learning" plan that helps districts move quickly between online and in-person instruction with access to the essential courses needed to support quality online education through intermittent closures.
  • "Teaching for Impact" Professional Development Course - developed by Pearson online education experts, this course is for district teachers who want to improve their online teaching skills and is designed to work with any platform (platform agnostic).
  • CoursewarePLUS - this option provides the greatest flexibility for districts to build their own program -- founded on Pearson's catalog of online courses and technology platform, with options for additional support services as needed to serve students.
  • Special Populations Consultation Service - consultation services and best practices to Special Education professionals who want to improve serving special populations online including medically fragile students, students with IEPs, 504 plans, and more.
  • Full-time Online with Pearson Teachers - you most likely have some students who will not be able to have any face-to-face interaction due to health issues of their own or due to family health issues. Using this option allows those students to receive full-time online instruction from Pearson state-certified teachers while ensuring the student stays enrolled in your district.

We know that planning for fall is challenging.  Whether you are thinking about having a backup plan ready in case of another closure, or looking to create a blended learning environment and/or wanting to offer full-time online options, why not talk to the online learning experts?
It could not only benefit your students, but it will also go a long way to help COSA create opportunities for future generations of educational leaders.
