Special Education Teacher

Position:

This position is for a full time Special Education Teacher for the 2021-22 school year.
North Douglas School District is in Drain, OR. Salary and benefits are per district Collective Bargaining Agreement with base salary rate starting at $40,000. Benefits include Sick leave, Insurance and full PERS pickup.
This position is SIA grant funded.

Qualifications:

Applicant must hold or be qualified for an Oregon Teaching Certificate with endorsement for special education; must have knowledge of Oregon's Special Education laws and the IEP process; have the ability to develop remediation techniques for SpEd students; be able to work with a team of professional educators in a small/rural school; be a positive role model for the school community.

Responsibilities: This position is responsible for assisting in identification of children with learning disabilities; providing instruction to children with mild handicaps and/or learning and behavior handicaps; work with educational services consultants in collecting necessary academic and behavioral data; design instructional programs for children which include goals and objectives, instructional strategies, media and materials, and monitoring procedures; provide assistance to teachers in implementing programs for identified children; maintain communication with parents, other teachers, and educational services in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of individual programs.
