Southern Oregon Education Service District (SOESD) Speech-Language Program is seeking an SLP to join our team who shares an enthusiasm about speech-language development in all learners. The SOESD offers speech-language services within our programs and the 11 of our component school districts in Jackson and Josephine Counties in beautiful southern Oregon. Our SLPs provide direct and consultative services to school age students Kindergarten through age 21. SOESD SLPs collaborate with school district teams to develop assessment plans, provide speech language assessments, offer hearing screenings, develop IEP goals, participate in eligibility determinations, track student progress, and offer individual and small group speech-language services. The students we serve include those with a range of voice, fluency, articulation, and expressive and receptive language needs who may also qualify for special education services across disability categories and/or be bilingual. Services may follow the pull-out model or be offered within a resource or site-based classroom in area schools. Some students are served in the day treatment or residential mental health setting. Our team of SLPs and SLPAs meet throughout the school year to share their skills and expertise and to collaborate on strategies that support students. A professional library of the most current editions of assessment tools and professional development workshops/trainings to advance skills and knowledge are available. Position Goal: To help students communicate appropriately through planning, implementing, and evaluation of individualized education programs.

Essential Functions:
Assessing individual educational speech-language needs of students and making recommendations
Preparing individual educational programs and materials.
Delivering effective speech-language therapy to identified students.
Consulting with parents to integrate home and school goals.
Assisting schools in multidisciplinary, IEP, placement, intervention and other educational decisions.
Providing consultations to teachers regarding speech-language interventions.
Establishing and maintaining positive , flexible,and cooperative relationships with ESD and local district staff.
Making independent decisions within established policies and procedures.
Preparing accountability records regarding services provided.
Communicating clearly and appropriately.
Participating in professional growth activities.
Complying with local district and ESD rules and policies.
Performing physical requirements unaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodation.
Performing related tasks as designated by supervisor.

Minimum Pre-Requisites:
Successful completion of an approved speech pathology program
Oregon teachers' license with speech impaired endorsement and acquire Oregon Health Board of Examiners' speech pathology license, or
Oregon Health Board of Examiners' speech pathology license.
The equivalent combination of experience, training, certification, education or degree that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be used as an alternative to prerequisites

Salary Range: $54,720 to $94,759 (this includes an annual stipend of $6500)
