1.0 FTE Speech Language Pathologist

Bethel School District is seeking appropriately licensed candidates for a 1.0 FTE Speech Language Pathologist position for the 2021-2022 school year at Cascade Middle School and Willamette High School.

Speech/Language Pathology duties include, but are not limited to:
• Observe, screen, and evaluate students to determine current level of performance to determine eligibility for services.
• Prepare evaluation reports and participate in drafting individual education program (IEP) goals and objectives.
• Provide case management for students eligible for special education, including following all state and federal requirements.
• Provide direct therapy and instruction to students, including analyzing, reviewing, and revising student progress, communicating with teachers and parents, and preparing classroom for instruction.
• Develop, select, and implement direct, indirect, and consultative services based on individual assessment results and planning intervention goals.
• Participate as a team member in support of students who qualify for special education, including behavior support planning.
• Establish and maintain intervention schedules for the schools and children with IEP and service plans.

Selection Factors:
• Knowledge of educational programs offered in all schools and of basic educational techniques, as required by the position.
• Knowledge of special education law and compliance.
• Knowledge of the basic developmental stages of a child's learning process.
• Ability to schedule the workload, manage time, and meet the needs of students, the school, or a program.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work with small groups and individual students.
• Ability to prepare materials for lesson plans and adapt, as needed, to meet the needs of students.
• Ability to interact positively with children and adults, and observe individual student abilities.
• Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, administrators, parents and co-workers.
• Ability to safely and proficiently operate standard office and audio-visual equipment, as required by the position.
• Ability to maintain an appropriate and legal level of confidentiality regarding students, staff, and other individuals.
• Ability to maintain regular, predictable and prompt attendance.

Minimum qualifications:
• Possess an Oregon License valid for assignment
• Ability to implement Culturally Proficient skills and strategies
• Successfully pass fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks
