The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership practices that support collaboration, data-driven decision making, family and community engagement, innovation, and teamwork oriented approaches, with an racial equity and equality focused lens. The successful candidate will demonstrate an awareness of the intersectional identities multilingual learners possess and the historical inequities they have experienced. The principal at Buckman Elementary School will continue to establish a learning environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth of every student and staff member. Buckman Elementary School serves over 400 students from the Buckman neighborhood which is located in Southeast Portland. Buckman boasts a robust Arts program that has thrived and grown as an integral part of the campus. This Arts centered school has created a unique and welcoming environment in PPS, ensuring that students, families, and teachers all find a welcoming school home at Buckman.
