Executive Director, Equity

Central Kitsap School District

Central Kitsap School District, located on the scenic Kitsap Peninsula, just across the water from downtown Seattle, is one of Washington state’s most respected school districts. Serving 11,200 students across nineteen schools, Central Kitsap is a diverse, exciting, and highly regarded school system which has enjoyed tremendous school board and superintendent leadership for many years. In 2019, Oregon's Erin Prince was named Superintendent of the Central Kitsap Schools.

We are humbled to be a district that is nationally known for the quality of our schools. Over the past several years, we have focused on advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in our district. We are proud of the progress we’ve made as an organization. Now it’s time to take the next step. We are seeking an Executive Director of Equity to ensure that all of our systems and structures align with our deeply held beliefs about equity for all students. We want our school cultures to reflect our commitment to respecting, supporting, and protecting all students, regardless of race, ethnicity, disability, language, religious affiliation, gender identity, sexual orientation, family background, or family income.

Our community and surrounding areas are growing in population and diversity. Nearly 50 percent of our students are federally connected, given our proximity to Naval Base Kitsap, which serves as the host command for the Navy’s fleet throughout the Pacific Northwest. We also enjoy tremendous community support. In 2016, voters in our district passed a $220M bond, allowing us to replace two secondary schools, modernize and add permanent classrooms to others, and complete additional large and small projects across the district. In addition, we have had a school support levy in place for more than 20 years. While the levy is about helping us provide our students with a robust education, full of opportunities, it’s also a reflection of our community’s hopes and dreams for their children. Our community cares deeply about supporting and enriching our students’ lives—and we know their future is bright!
