Job Description:
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, this position will start off fully remote with a possibility of returning to a physical office in the future.

We are seeking a Contracts/AP Accounting Technician (Accounting Technician 3). This position in our in the Financial Services Unit of our Office of Finance and Information Technology (OFIT). This is a permanent full time position.
What you will do!
This position will process payment batches consisting of contract invoices, accounts payable and sub-grant distributions, with a focus on appropriateness, completeness, accuracy and proper authorization. The complexity of the agency's accounting system requires attention to detail to ensure payments are coded to the correct appropriation and funding stream.

This Is What You Need To Qualify
A minimum of three years of technical support accounting experience. Two (2) years of the experience must include a) coding transactions and checking them for propriety, b) balancing, and c) resolving discrepancies in computer edits; OR at least 90 quarter (60 semester) credit hours from an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school that includes 12 quarter (9 semester) hours in accounting. Training or experience must include using a computer to enter, update, or retrieve information.
Candidates who are the most competitive will possess a compelling combination of the following background, skills, and experience:
Excellent attention to detail
Strong time management/organization skills with ability to multi-task
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (intermediate Excel)
Team focused
Accounts payable experience
Experience with Statewide Financial Management Application (SFMA) is preferred

Additional Information
Employees who are Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) participating members will have their base salary increased by 6.95% and pay a 6% employee contribution to PERS; the salary range noted above reflects base salary only.
