Position: Intervention Specialists / Full-time / Monday – Friday
3 positions available (1 - Firwood Elementary, 1 Sandy Grade and 1 - split between Kelso and Welches Elementary)
This is a grant funded position

Gov. Kate Brown has directed that Oregon will implement a legal requirement that all public and private school teachers, staff, coaches and volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. "Fully vaccinated" is defined as 14 days after receiving all required doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine (currently two shots of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one shot of Johnson & Johnson vaccine). All staff members will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Exceptions may be made only for eligible medical or religious reasons. There will not be an option to opt out for other reasons or choose testing in lieu of vaccination, under the state mandate.

 
Position Summary: To support, supplement and extend classroom reading and math instruction to help close the achievement gap and address unfinished learning in kindergarten through fifth grade.  Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society while performing at grade level in math and reading.                         
 
Qualifications:

Oregon teaching license with Reading and/or Math Endorsement, grades pre-primary through 12
Strong classroom management skills required
Knowledge and mastery in subject/level endorsement
Knowledge and good (demonstrated) understanding of curriculum and instruction
Experience in online instruction, desired
Experience with teaching while live streaming
Experience with Google Classroom
Experience teaching blended classrooms, desired
 Instructional and Program Management
Provides leadership in collaborative work effort to implement a balanced, quality, research-based reading, math, and literacy program that meets the needs of students at all levels.
Assists classroom teachers to plan and implement a program of study designed to meet district goals and the individual needs, interests and abilities of students.
Provides and models instruction aligned with district and state goals.
Designs and implements a model in which teaching, modeling, assistance and support are delivered in the classroom.
Provides assistance in assessing student reading and math strengths and needs, and demonstrates how this information can be infused into the instruction.
Provides classroom observation and feedback on students, teacher techniques and program methods and strategies of improvement.
Acts as a resource for instructional research and best practices.
Develops, leads and conducts professional development, including workshops, model strategies or techniques, demonstrations and/or collaborative lessons.
Possession of a current Oregon Driver’s License issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, a safe driving record and a vehicle available for use on the job.     
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of district’s curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Oregon Department of Education, board policies, and administrative regulations.
Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.

Salary:   Annual Salary Range: $46,020 - $89,187 (Salary will be prorated depending on start date)
               Initial placement based on education and experience
