Job Description:

We are seeking a Fiscal Transparency and Accountability Analyst (Operations & Policy Analyst 3). This position in our Office of Finance and Information Technology (OFIT), School Finance and School Facilities Team with the Oregon Department of Education. This is a permanent, full time position.

What you will do!
The Fiscal Transparency and Accountability Analyst will review and provide training and guidance to internal and external partners. This position will identify areas of concern both with internal systems and external systems in school districts and provide recommendations and trainings for financial transparency and accountability.

This Is What You Need To Qualify
A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and four (4) years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work; OR any combination of experience and education equivalent to seven (7) years of professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.

Candidates who are the most competitive will possess a compelling combination of the following background, skills, and experience:
• Background and experience in business, finance and accounting
• Experience creating and applying specific, well defined rules, policies and procedures to program work
• Ability to organize work and exercise independent judgment in making quality decisions
• Skill in outreach, training, and follow-up on program work
• Research, analytical review and critical thinking skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite software with at least an intermediate level of Excel knowledge
• Skill in Oregon school finance and school administration is preferred
• Skill in state-level policy development is preferred

Additional Information
Employees who are Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) participating members will have their base salary increased by 6.95% and pay a 6% employee contribution to PERS; the salary range noted above reflects base salary only.
