Salary Range: $96,500 - 107,000

Powell Butte Community Charter School (PBCCS) seeks an experienced educational leader, with a passion for working with children and strong administrative acumen, who is committed to a place-based education vision. Our ideal candidate is a collaborative, and visionary leader who will work alongside a phenomenal staff and a dedicated Board of Directors to guide PBCCS school into the next exciting phase of its development.
PBCCS is in its twelfth year of operation as a public charter school, sponsored by Crook County School District. PBCCS serves 220 students K-8 in the historical Powell Butte School building. PBCCS currently has a staff of 25 dedicated individuals that work collaboratively to support the student learning and place-based experiences.
Place-based curriculum at PBCCS integrates core subjects with science and social studies topics relevant to student’s lives. At PBCCS place-based curriculum connects learning and the community to promote the understanding of the world, positively impact the community, engage students, and boost academic outcomes. Instructional units are developed and taught that are developmentally appropriate and standards based. Teachers use a variety of resources, methodologies and instructional strategies.
Qualities we seek in a future PBCCS Administrator:
Oversee the day-to-day affairs of the organization, while implementing the educational vision.
Provide meaningful leadership, direction, support, training, and oversight to the staff.
Maintain an ethical, efficient work environment that attracts, keeps, and motivates a professional team of educators.
Develop and monitor the budget, secure and manage grants, manage cash flow, and strategically align and optimize resources.
Regularly report the school's status and progress to the Board of Directors and inform the staff of relevant board decisions.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with staff, Board members, Crook County School District, students, parents and community members.
Maintain a strong positive image with the larger Crook County community, in coordination with Crook County School District and Oregon Charter School organizations.
Ensure compliance with PBCCS, Crook County School District, and Oregon Department of Education policies and procedures.
Hold or qualify for appropriate Oregon administrative license.
Minimum five years’ experience as an educator.
Minimum of two years' school leadership experience.
A clear vision of the K-8 curriculum and instruction.
Ability to lead school improvement efforts informed by data that produce high achievement results.
Strong communication skills that establish positive, collaborative working relationships with and among students, staff, parents and the community.
Effective management of school operations to support teaching and learning.
Understanding of effective educational programming, including talented and gifted, and special education.
Expertise in personnel selection, management, evaluation, and staff development
Strong fiscal manager; ability to marshal limited resources to meet student and school needs.
