The Newberg School District, Oregon, is seeking a highly qualified Director of Human Resources and Assessment. The district wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position July 2022.

McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development has been engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the district in identifying and screening the candidates.

Enrollment: 4,200 students

Location: 25 miles southwest of Portland

Job summary

The Director shall assist the Superintendent by administrating services and programs for the district and act as a resource person to the Superintendent. Represent the school district as acting Chief Executive Officer in absence of the Superintendent.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Knowledge of personnel practices including contract management and negotiations. Skilled in effective problem-solving. Ability to: communicate effectively in speaking and writing.

Experience: Minimum of five years successful teaching experience; minimum of five years successful experience as a building and/or program administrator. District office administrative experience preferred. Experience in contract administration and collective bargaining. Experience in managing and/or coordinating support service programs.

Education: Masters Degree required, Doctoral Degree preferred.

Certification Required: Continuing Administrator/Initial Superintendent License or Continuing Superintendent License.
