Position Title: Special Education Research Analyst (Research Analyst 2)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Special Education Research Analyst (Research Analyst 2). This position is in our Office of Enhancing Student Opportunities (OESO) at the Oregon Department of Education. This is a limited duration position scheduled to end May 3, 2024.

What you will do!
Our Research Analyst serves as a liaison and point of contact to provide technical assistance and training to districts, school level data submitters, contractors and providers of data. This position will also provide support to OESO involving data management and reporting requirements of the Federal Office of Special Programs.
Typical duties include:
Providing technical assistance, support, and quality assurance for data collections and school/district validations housed within the office.
Providing technical assistance and support to the office involving data management and reporting requirements of the Federal Office of Special Education Programs.
Providing technical assistance and training to district and school level data submitters, and technical assistance to contractors and providers of data as needed.
Providing technical assistance and support in the development of information for use in technical reports, including federal, state, and public data requests and legislative reports.
Serve as a resource regarding special education data.

What are we looking for?
A Bachelor's degree in any discipline that included six-quarter units in statistics or quantitative analysis methods and procedures; OR
Three years experience as a research assistant comparable to the work of a Research Analyst 1; or two years experience using computer applications to help gather, compile, analyze, and report information and statistical data.
Candidates who are the most competitive will possess a compelling combination of the following background, skills, and experience:
Experience with data management and reporting
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal, collaboration and team-related skills
Strong time management and organizational skills

Salary Range: The range listed is the Non-PERS salary range. Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) participating members will have their base salary increased by 6.95% and pay a 6% employee contribution to PERS.
