Position Summary:
Serves as a school and educational leader responsible for contributing to the development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of a comprehensive program of educational and student services. Carries out duties and responsibilities in accordance with board policies, statutory requirements, administrative rules and regulations, collective bargaining agreements, and under direction of the school principal. Advocates for the staff, school, and school community as appropriate. As the Athletic Program Director, leads our district sports programs to the next level through dynamic sports leadership, effective coaching development and support, promoting community partnerships, and sustainable fundraising efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other related duties may be assigned.
Lead:
• Assists the Principal in providing leadership and technical assistance for the high school in the areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment, evaluation, school improvement, and instructional achievement.
• Assists in special projects / assignments at the designation of the Principal.
• Create, implement and sustain district vision for athletics (parents, fans, coaches, and players).
• Scheduling all school athletic events within the restrictions of the school calendar and the length of each sports season and post-season schedule.
• Creating and maintaining positive, collaborative relationships with District maintenance, grounds and transportation departments.
• Supervises and evaluates coaches. May supervise and evaluate other staff.
• Partner with community organizations to create Sisters Outlaw culture.
• Establish “Sisters Outlaw Certified” brand, visions, goals and culture.
• Maximize student athlete participation in athletics, including students with special needs.
• Develops and administers the athletic program budget ensuring that expenditures are within the approved funding level and that all expenditures are properly documented and processed. Planning for and processing necessary documentation for the purchase of athletic equipment and supplies.
• Ensure Title 9 requirements are met.
• Ensure all coaches have met all relevant OSAA, employment and other requirements prior to beginning coaching responsibilities.
• Promote high standards of conduct for the community, coaches, and players.
• Demonstrate equitable commitment and support for all Outlaw athletic programs.
• Promote the Sisters Outlaw brand by celebrating successes, honoring and recognizing acts of athletic character and hard work.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
Primary Administrative Stewardships:
• Athletics.
• Supervise and evaluate PE/Health Teachers and athletics personnel.
• Clubs and activities lead.
• School safety lead.
• Facilities lead.
Manage:
• All fundraising activities to build sustainability.
• Athletic schedules and administration – systems, officials, transportation and events.
• Create uniform standards that define Outlaw coaches.
• Recruit, interview and hire Coaches (Head, Assistant and Associate) for all sports on a seasonal basis, including managing the placement of existing coaches, and ongoing development.
• Define and promote standards for Outlaw fans and supporters.
• Define and cultivate a positive and healthy sports culture for Outlaw athletes.
• Ensure District and OSAA athletic policies are adhere to.
• Organize athletic awards and celebrations.
• Establish consistent facility access guidelines.
• Prepare and manage annual budget for all athletics in Sisters School District.
• Student activities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s degree.
• Active Oregon School Administrator License or projected date of awarding of license prior to starting the position.
• Successful experience in a school administration and/or athletics leadership role.
• Incumbents must have successful experience working with culturally diverse families and communities, and/or have otherwise demonstrated a commitment to equity and strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with a diverse population.
• Recent successful experience in public education; district or school administrative experience. High school experience preferred.
• Successful coaching experience in an educational environment with a student-centered education philosophy.
• High level of knowledge and skill in sports safety to assure prevention and protection of students.
• Strong understanding of “client-centered” support and the ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated success in ability to plan, implement, and monitor policies and procedures in areas of assigned responsibility.

• Ability to work both independently and cooperatively, exercise independent judgement and creativity, organize work, manage, prioritize and complete complex projects within tight deadlines.

• Demonstrated skill at conflict resolution.
• Valid, current driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance coverage.

Employment, Salary and Benefits:
• $95,000.00 annual salary, based upon education and experience.
• This is a full-time, (1.0 FTE), 225-day contract position, including 11 paid holidays,
3 paid personal days, bereavement and sick leave.
