About the District and Department
Springfield Public Schools is located in Springfield, Oregon, in the heart of the Willamette Valley, and serves 185 square miles of the city of Springfield and East/Central Lane County. We are directly east of Eugene, where the University of Oregon is located. We currently have about 10,000 students, 1,410 total employees (667 of whom are teachers) in our kindergarten through grade 12 school district. Springfield Public Schools believes student success is our most important outcome. The Human Resources team is comprised currently of an HR Director, an Assistant HR Director, three HR Technicians, and an HR Secretary. As many HR processes are decentralized, a key objective of the HR department is to provide information, expert advice, and support to department and building leaders.

About the Position
Springfield Public Schools is seeking qualified, equity-minded candidates to fill one (1) position within the Human Resources Department, an HR and OD Analyst or an HR and OD Specialist, based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. Both positions are newly created, confidential positions that will exist to improve organizational performance and growth by maximizing employee potential, increasing efficiency, and redesigning processes, specifically through the lens of Human Resources and Organizational Development. Incumbents of this position may be assigned to projects and/or programs in one or several HR areas based on the distribution of knowledge, skills, and abilities among the entire team. Possible assignment areas include: Recruitment & Staffing; Training & Development; Performance Management; Classification & Compensation; Employee Relations; HR Technology.

The following are minimum requirements to be hired or to transfer into this position:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent* from an accredited institution in human resources, business or public administration, governmental/legal studies, psychology, finance, computer science, or a related field
• Three (3) years of work experience in a role dedicated to Human Resources, demonstrating working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, such as: compensation; HRIS; recruitment and retention; learning and development; performance management; employee and labor relations; benefits; and leaves and disabilities.
• Human Resources related credential such as: PHR/SPHR; SHRM-CP or SCP; SHRM specialty certifications; IPMA; AIHR; Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), etc; OR completion within six months of placement

*Bachelor’s degree equivalent equals two years of increasingly responsible work experience in a role dedicated to HR as outlined above for each full year (24-30 units) of college.

Salary and Benefits
• HR and OD Analyst salary range: $75,992 to 91,349 (based on 2023-2024 salary schedule) depending on education/experience.
• HR and OD Specialist salary range: $67,024 to 80,570 (based on 2023-2024 salary schedule) depending on education/experience.
• Springfield Public Schools offers a generous benefit plan including stipends for TSA, Mileage and Cell Phone
• This position works 261 days per fiscal year (July 1 through June 30)
• The HR team is excited to offer a subscription to AIHR through June 30, 2025 for professional development and certification in up to 11 areas.
