We are seeking a State School Fund Modernization Project Manager (Project Manager 3) in our Office of Finance and Information Technology at the Oregon Department of Education. This is a limited duration position scheduled to end on June 30, 2025. This position may be extended pending budget approval.
This is a hybrid role that is required to report to the office when business or operational needs are dependent on onsite activities. Remote work is embraced to the fullest extent possible without interfering with business.

What you will do!
The primary purpose of this position is to provide project management for the State School Fund System Modernization Initiative within the Oregon Department of Education.
Typical Duties Include:
Providing professional project management methodologies and expertise on assigned statewide multi-agency or enterprise-level projects with varying project lengths ranging from several months to multi-years.
Partnering with ODE leaders, staff, and business partners in all aspects of its work, and with other ODE project managers to establish, implement, and follow ODE PM Standards, consistent with the PMBOK methodologies and Oregon State CIO Office established Stage Gate process.

What you need to qualify
Seven years of professional level experience related to the class concept
OR
Six years of professional level experience related to the class concept AND an Oregon Project Management Associate Certification
OR
Four years of professional level experience related to the class concept AND a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field
OR
Two years of professional level experience AND Project Management Professional Certification awarded by the Project Management Institute
Desired Attributes (what we are looking for):
Candidates who are the most competitive will possess a compelling combination of the following background, skills, and experience:
Extensive demonstrable knowledge of Project Management professional standards.
Five years of large scale, concurrent complex project management is preferred.
Three years experience with contract administration and procurement.
Two years of experience with IT project management is preferred.
One year of Business Systems Analysis experience preferred.
State of Oregon Project Management experience and good knowledge of Stage Gate process is preferred.
Possession of an Oregon Project Management Associate Certification or Project Management Professional Certification awarded by the Project Management Institute is desirable
