We are seeking a Procurement Compliance Specialist (Compliance Specialist 1) to join our Child Nutrition Program at the Oregon Department of Education. This is a limited duration position expected to end June 30, 2024. This position is represented by the Service Employees International Union.

What you will do!
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure sponsoring organizations of USDA Child Nutrition Programs understand and follow applicable procurement regulations.
As the Procurement Compliance Specialist you will:
Conduct procurement reviews for Child Nutrition Program Sponsors that participate in one of more of the following programs: National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program, Summer Food Service Program.
Determine compliance with federal procurement regulations, provide technical assistance to improve compliance, and assign appropriate corrective actions when necessary.
Provide internal training on procurement policies and procedures. Act as a resource to CNP staff on CNP procurement requirements.
Coordinate with the Compliance Specialist 3 to ensure USDA and Oregon oversight requirements are met.
Support procurement reviews for all ODE Child Nutrition Programs.

What you need to qualify:
Two years experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action, or decide eligibility or compliance with program guidelines and regulations.
Note: college-level course work may substitute for the experience on the basis of 45-quarter units per year of experience

Familiarity with federal and state regulations and laws is preferred.
