TEACHER OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION - (GRADES K-12) - Long Term Care and Treatment (LTCT)

Classification: Licensed 190 day calendar
Reports to: Long Term Care & Treatment Director
FSLA Status: Exempt Employee

POSITION OVERVIEW

Teaching is rewarding work. Teaching students with social, emotional, behavioral issues and mental health needs is one of the most fulfilling teaching experiences possible. QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) teaching license is required Secondary Endorsement grades K-12.
Secondary endorsement in the PE content area.
Successful experience directly related to the specific teaching assignment.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge and understanding of the mental health needs of youth.

GENERAL INFORMATION
This position has the following expectations and prerequisite abilities.

Maintain compliance with state and federal laws governing all aspects of our agency including ORS, OAR, IDEA, FOIA, and CIPA.
Exceptional prioritization of tasks, timely completion of work assignments, ability to take the initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
Demonstrates respectful, flexible and effective teambuilding skills of cooperation, communication and active participation.
Present self and LBL in a professional manner including: in oral and written communication, professional disposition when working with others and maintaining professional dress standards.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written directives, find requested data and present in user-friendly formats for internal and public distribution.
Maintain regular attendance at work. Be punctual in meeting deadlines, attending meetings, and following schedules.
Utilize teleservice platform to provide services to educators, students and district staff as directed.
Ability to lift, carry at least 25 pounds.
Ability to sit for extended periods in a vehicle or work setting.
Ability to safely maneuver self and others in an unpredictable environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assess knowledge, skills, behavior, and attendance and track appropriately.
Determine the needs of individual students and provide relevant instruction.
Record and report data according to established policy and state standards.
Provide instruction and lessons in Physical Education utilizing a course of study with approved curriculum publications as guidelines in teaching individual course content.
Provide instruction within a secured, lockdown, and controlled environment.
Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and implement them to meet the defined needs of identified students.
Effectively use word processing, databases and on-line programs.
Work well within a team by promoting good staff morale by putting team needs above individual needs.
Collaborate with others to complete tasks and solve problems in a positive manner.
Communicate effectively in a courteous, tactful and professional manner.

SALARY AND BENEFIT INFORMATION

Licensed employees are represented by Linn Benton Lincoln Education Association.
Salary and benefit information shown are based on full-time employment (1.0 FTE) based on the current school year
Placement on the Linn Benton Lincoln ESD licensed salary schedule will be commensurate with applicant’s qualifications, relevant training, and experience
Linn Benton Lincoln ESD will provide an Insurance CAP to assist with health, dental and vision insurance premiums
