Willamina School District is seeking .70 Spanish teacher for grades 7-12 and .30 ELL testing coordinator.
Position Summary:
The Spanish teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, standards-based instruction in Spanish to students in 7-12 The ideal candidate fosters a love of language learning, integrates cultural elements into the curriculum, and promotes an immersive classroom environment. As the ELL testing coordinator, you will be conducting testing and language assessments for the purpose of evaluating students’ academic and language abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
• Teach Spanish language skills including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
• Incorporate Hispanic cultures, traditions, and history into lessons.
• Assess and monitor student progress and provide feedback.
• Maintain an organized, respectful, and engaging classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school-wide activities and professional development.
• Ensure compliance and maintain accurate documentation for all identified English Language learner students in grade
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Valid teaching certification/license in Oregon.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish.
• Experience teaching Spanish at the Middle/High school level preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills.
• Multicultural competency.
• English for speakers of other languages (ESOL Endorsement).
