Middle School Learning Coach
Work Calendar: 189 days August to June School Schedule Mon-Fri 8 hours per day
Compensation: $32,000 - $40,000 DOE

Job Functions

70% of Time - Student Instruction:

Assisting and interacting with students: Conduct small group or one-on-one academic support, perform regular check-ins with students to assess their progress, address any concerns or challenges they may be facing, and provide guidance and support.
Student and parent communication: Regular communication via email and phone to share academic information and progress reports, and/or provide academic interventions as needed.

30% of Time - Administrative Support:

performing tasks such as a notable amount of data entry, data processing, assessing student work, updating progress reports, and preparing mass and personalized communications for students and their families.
Special projects: Take on special projects as needed, working collaboratively with the team to implement initiatives that support student success and engagement.
Assist with school events as directed.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Enjoy working with students and have a passion for helping them achieve their goals.
Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
Required to be able to work independently and with frequent interruptions.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to effectively track student progress and maintain accurate records.
Developed communication skills, both written and verbal, to establish rapport with students and their families.
Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and community partners.

Reports to: Middle School Director
Collaborates With: Middle School staff

Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
Ability to successfully work as part of a team.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards

Work in standard office and school building environments.
Certification/License:

Ability to work as a classified staff member at a public charter school in Oregon.
