Executive Director of Student Services - ADMINISTRATION
1.0 FTE to begin July 1, 2025

SUPERVISOR: Superintendent
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Possess or be eligible for both Washington State Teacher Certificate and Administrator Certificate.
2. Master's Degree in school administration or related field from an approved program of higher education.
3. Minimum of 5 years of successful experience as a building principal.
4. Deep understanding of PreK-12 education issues, Washington State essential standards, Professional Learning Communities, MTSS, and Inclusionary Practices.
5. Demonstrated ability to lead improvement efforts at the school and district level.
6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with students, teachers, school administrators, support personnel, and community members.
7. Knowledge and experience with data management and grant funding.
8. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
9. Possess a steadfast commitment to improving student academic success and social well-being.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Successful Central Office leadership experience.
2. Superintendent endorsement or a doctoral degree.
3. Training in Washington State principal and teacher evaluation systems.
4. Knowledge and experience with Federal and State Programs.
5. Knowledge and experience with Washington State Title IX, HIB, Equity, and Student Discipline law and policy.
6. Knowledge and experience with strategic planning processes that engages multiple stakeholders with the inclusion of student voice.
7. Experience establishing collaborative working relationships with association partners.
8. Able to delegate management tasks to others, and hold themselves and others accountable for results.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Support and promote district focus and direction related to improving student achievement and well-being consistent with goals and ideals outlined in the district's strategic plan.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including instructional staff, principals, district leaders, community members, and educational partners.
3. Support systems for district-wide student management, ensuring alignment with district policies, state and federal regulations, and best practices to ensure consistency, equity, and effectiveness in behavioral interventions.
4. Provide visionary leadership to advance strategic social/emotional learning goals and initiatives, including oversite and guidance to counseling, SMART Response Team, Title X (Mckinney-Vento, Homeless, & Foster Care) and the strategic integration of state and federal categorical resources.
5. Lead the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal laws related to student services and student management including student 504 accommodations and ADA compliance.
6. Oversee professional development initiatives aligned with the district's strategic plan, designing and implementing training programs that support teachers and administrators in effective student support strategies, and leadership development.
7. Coordinate and partner with the Executive Director of Special Education and the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning to provide high quality programing to all students.
8. Lead the management and execution of threat assessment processes to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to student and staff safety.
9. Lead and support school administrators in handling student management matters, providing training, guidance, and professional development on behavior management strategies.
10. Establish and enhance cross-functional collaboration between school staff, families, and community partners to support student success and promote a positive school climate.
11. Regularly engage in the detailed analysis of data and lead our district's principals in the analysis of their school's data to determine actionable solutions to improve student achievement and well-being.
12. Collaboratively lead the continued creation and coordination of a district wide approach that meets the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework for enhancing instructional practices to meet the academic and social/emotional needs of all students.
13. Collaboratively lead the implementation of inclusionary practices for all students, ensuring equitable access to educational programs through a multi-tiered system of behavioral support and intervention.
14. Assist in the development and implementation of policy and procedures.
15. Prepare required reports, briefings, and presentations for Cabinet, Board, staff and community related to the District Strategic Plan or State/Federal Requirements.
16. Maintain and develop current knowledge of federal and state mandates related student achievement and well-being.
17. Prepare and maintain reports, records, and documents as required by local, state, and federal entities.
18. Assist in other roles as needed for the district to meet established goals.
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Classrooms, offices, other school facilities, and various meeting locations throughout the District and community.
Travel required between locations regularly. Frequent interruptions and schedule changes. Required to deal with a wide range of situations, behaviors, and abilities.
Requires frequent writing, standing, walking and sitting.
Performs a variety of non-essential functions consistent with the scope and intent of this position.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Contract Term: 260 days (221 contracted days, 14 holidays & 25 vacation days); estimated start date: July 1, 2025
Salary: $165,760 - $180,606 based on qualifications and experience.
