Coffenberry Middle School is looking for a positive, student-focused leader to join our team as Vice Principal. We want someone who’s excited about helping middle schoolers grow—academically, socially, and emotionally—and who’s committed to creating a safe, welcoming school where all students feel supported and ready to succeed.
Qualifications and Attributes:
Experience working with and understanding the unique needs of middle school students and staff
Middle school teaching experience preferred.
Strong communication skills with students, families, faculty, and community members.
Highly visible and actively involved in the school and greater community.
Deep understanding of developmentally appropriate practices for middle-level learners, including Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), instructional leadership, and technology integration
Demonstrates genuine care for the success and well-being of every student.
Exercises exceptional judgment and discretion in decision-making.
Proven ability to analyze complex issues and apply strong problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities Include:
Supporting the principal in leading school operations, instructional programs, and staff development.
Cultivating strong relationships with students, staff, and families to create a positive and inclusive school climate
Assisting with staff evaluations, mentoring, and professional growth initiatives.
Maintaining a strong and visible presence throughout the school day and during extracurricular activities
Promoting collaboration and shared leadership focused on middle school student achievement and growth
Ensuring the consistent application of school policies related to behavior, safety, and academic expectations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A current Oregon Administrative License or eligibility to obtain one
At least one year in school administration or qualified through an administrative internship program
Successful teaching and/or leadership experience, preferably at the middle school level
