POSITION:
Elementary FLC Instructional Assistant
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
187‐day contract
SALARY:
$18.12-$24.41 depending on experience, pending negotiations
STARTING DATE:
August 2025
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree, 72 quarter (48 semester) hours of post-secondary coursework or High School Diploma and pass a rigorous Paraeducator local assessment.
Evidence of good leadership and citizenship qualities and an interest in students.
Ability to communicate well with adults and children.
Prior job-related experience recommended but not required.
Preferred Qualification: Strong Reading and Math Skills.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable; and
Have a current First Aid card.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be willing to learn about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ADS) and how autism affects students; to listen, learn, and respond to individual students with ADS; and to reflect on own practices to continuously develop one’s own knowledge and skills regarding ASD
Assist students with Autism and support them to develop and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance.
Be willing to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during the workday, when appropriate
