Position Title: Junior High / High School Secretary – Athletics & Bookkeeping Support
Grades: 6–12
Location: Dayton Junior High & High School
School Year: 2025–2026
The Dayton School District is seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Secretary to support Dayton Junior High and High School with a focus on athletics coordination and school bookkeeping. This is a full-time position (8 hours/day) for the 2025–2026 school year.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide secretarial support to junior high and high school administration.
Coordinate and assist with athletic scheduling, including home and away games, referees, transportation, and facility use.
Manage and distribute athletic rosters, eligibility records, and event communications.
Maintain and reconcile student activity and athletics accounts, including processing purchase orders and tracking budgets.
Prepare deposits, process invoices, and maintain accurate records for school financial transactions.
Ensure compliance with district and OSAA (Oregon School Activities Association) regulations.
Assist with student records, attendance, and general office operations.
Interact with students, staff, families, and the public in a courteous and efficient manner.
Support office functions including communication, filing, and data entry.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and public relations skills.
Proficiency in computer use and experience with student database systems.
Previous experience in school bookkeeping, athletics coordination, or office administration.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Salary & Benefits:
Salary range: $18.85– $27.89 per hour, based on the Dayton Classified Collective Bargaining Agreement (11-step schedule).
Credit for previous, relevant experience will be considered.

6% employer contribution to PERS (Public Employees Retirement System).
Conditions of Employment:
Successful completion of a criminal history check.
