Salary: $109,678 – $118,628

The Dayton School District is seeking a Junior High - High School Assistant Principal to support leadership across grades 6–12. This role supports the building principal in leading academic, behavioral, and operational excellence in both junior high and high school settings. The ideal candidate is a student-centered and community-driven leader dedicated to equity, safety, and student achievement.

District Overview:
Dayton School District is located in western Oregon’s scenic Mid-Willamette Valley between McMinnville and Newberg. Serving approximately 1,000 students across a Grade School, Junior High (grades 6–8), and High School (grades 9–12), Dayton is a rural district with a strong sense of community and commitment to educational excellence.

Position Description:
Promote a safe, inclusive, and welcoming school culture
Support students and staff with behavior interventions and restorative practices
Assist in managing school operations, including discipline, attendance, and supervision
Contribute to instructional leadership, coaching, and professional development
Help lead school improvement planning aligned with district initiatives
Support extracurricular and athletic program coordination
Serve as a liaison to families and community partners
Support systems for monitoring student progress and closing achievement gaps
Promote a positive school climate and high expectations for all
Assist with evaluations and support of certified and classified staff
Participate in emergency planning and safety protocol implementation

Minimum Qualifications:
Current Oregon Administrative License or eligible for licensure
Master’s Degree in Education or related field
Minimum five (5) years of teaching experience, ideally at the secondary level
Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience in K–12 education
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting and strengthening athletics, activities, and CTE programs
Background in trauma-informed care, equity, and restorative practices
Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred
