Creswell School District is seeking appropriately licensed candidates for a Behavior Interventionist (Tier 2 supports) to join the outstanding staff at Creslane Elementary School for the 2025-26 school year.
This position is open until filled. Applicant screening begins June 9th.
WORK YEAR: 190 days
JOB SUMMARY:
This position will support the needs of the building in behavior prevention strategies, SEL, and restorative practices.
The position will focus largely on strategic intervention support (tier 2, yellow zone) push-in support in the classroom (CICO, check-ins, breaks, lunch bunch, soft starts, mentorship).
Some social skills training will also be part of the responsibilities of the role.
This person will work closely and collaboratively with the building principal, behavior specialists, and school counselor in supporting the student and teacher in the general education setting.
The behavior interventionist plans, delivers, manages and promotes support that focuses on student needs and outcomes. As an integral part of the school’s academic mission, the behavior interventionist provides systematic, developmental, culturally responsive guidance essential to the success of each student. Data driven, student centered, and trauma informed, the behavior interventionist focuses on the needs, assets and potential of each student in the areas of academic, personal, social emotional learning, and community participation.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIP:
This position reports to the building administrators.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: a Master's degree in Education from an accredited college or university AND Valid Oregon TSPC license,
Demonstrate sensitivity/understanding of interpersonal relations with students and persons of diverse cultures and backgrounds required.
Desired Experience:
Elementary School behavior support
Tier 2 systems (Breaks are better, CICO, SWIS, restorative Practices)
Proven and effective classroom management
Relational
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Skill in using tact, discretion, initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines.
Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines, and following up on assignments with a minimum of direction.
Skill in communicating clearly and effectively, orally and in writing.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population of students, families, peers and colleagues.

All licensed employees will meet the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) Standards for Competent and Ethical Educators and District Standards for Performance.
WORK YEAR AND BENEFITS:
This position follows the regular teacher work year and working conditions are governed by the collective bargaining agreement.
