POSITION: Middle School Elective Teacher
Harrisburg Middle School is seeking a dynamic and creative educator to join our team as an Elective Teacher. This position offers the opportunity to design and deliver engaging, relevant elective courses that support student interests, creativity, and exploration. The ideal candidate is passionate about connecting with students, building strong relationships, and helping every learner find success.
Harrisburg operates on a 4-day school week M-TH. Work days and hours are flexible for this position, so the work times and days can be personalized.
COMPENSATION: $44,038.71- $84,954.65
Placement on the salary schedule will be competitive and commensurate with education,
experience, and work schedule. District policy GCBA will be implemented.
BENEFITS: Prorated employer-paid insurance CAP to assist with health, dental, and vision premiums, employer-paid Basic Life, and AD&D policies. Paid personal days, sick leave, and paid holidays, with a generous PERS retirement contribution.
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Oregon Teacher’s License with appropriate endorsement level required.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in elective subjects
Create a classroom culture that promotes respect, inclusivity, and enthusiasm for learning
Collaborate with colleagues to support student achievement and school initiatives
Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and support
Encourage student voice and choice in elective topics and projects
Participate in school-wide activities, events, and professional learning
Qualifications:
Valid Oregon teaching license with appropriate endorsement(s), or ability to obtain
Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with middle school students
Creative and flexible approach to curriculum development
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and the broader school community
