POSITION: High School Principal 2025-26 School Year
WORK CALENDAR: Schools in the district operate on a 4-day school week, M-TH.
COMPENSATION: The salary will be commensurate with education and experience, and the work schedule will be based on a work calendar with fewer days compared to a 5-day school district. The high school principal has a 192-day work calendar plus eight paid holidays, totaling 200 contract days.
BENEFITS: Prorated employer-paid insurance CAP to assist with health, dental, and vision premiums, employer-paid Basic Life, and AD&D policies. Two (2) days of personal leave, ten (10) days of sick leave, paid holidays, and a generous PERS retirement contribution.
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Oregon Administrative License or ability to obtain one by start of employment
JOB SUMMARY:
The High School Principal is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and operation of Harrisburg High School (grades 9–12). The successful candidate will foster a safe and positive school culture that promotes high academic standards, strong student outcomes, and meaningful relationships with staff, students, families, and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide visionary instructional leadership aligned with district goals and state standards.
Supervise and support teachers and classified staff with professional development.
Promote a favorable school climate that emphasizes respect, safety, and student achievement.
Ensure effective school operations, including scheduling, budgeting, and compliance with district policies and state regulations.
Engage with parents, community members, and external partners to strengthen school-community connections.
Utilize data to inform decision-making and implement ongoing improvement strategies.
