JOB SUMMARY
This position assists staff in classroom and school settings by providing behavioral intervention support for students. This position assists with the implementation and monitoring of behavioral supports for students. Also provides student supervision in various settings, assists with student data collection and may perform other duties in support of students and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.
Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures
Implements Behavior Support Plans as prescribed and collects data objectively to inform the plan; reports to teacher and communicates effectively.
Assists students with behavioral support including, but not limited to, transitions, social skill development; reinforces previously learned concepts.
Works directly with students with a variety of behavioral needs.
Assists students with tracking assignments and managing behaviors.
Supervises assigned students and escorts to various activities (including, but not limited to playground, hallways, cafeteria, field trips, bus loading, and other places where students may gather); maintains a positive and proactive environment during activities in a variety of school settings ensuring safety at all times.
Implements behavioral plans.
Confers with teaching staff on behavior progress of students.
Evaluates students’ behavioral progress as directed by teacher.
Maintains safe environment for students at all times.
Follows prescribed daily schedule as outlined by the teacher.
Assists with loading and unloading of students from buses.
Assists the teacher in developing educational materials (copying, typing, laminating, etc.).
Plans supportive activities for students under the direction of the teacher.
Confers with teaching staff regarding student progress.
Assists students with managing behaviors, de-escalation and resolving conflicts. Problem-solves to find solutions to problems between students.
Participates effectively at required meetings with teacher and other support staff using appropriate social skills, problem-solving and conflict resolution strategies.
Maintains positive interactions with students parents/guardians and staff; Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff and parents/guardians and resolves conflict in a professional manner
Complies with applicable District, state, local and federal laws, rules and regulations.
Maintains current certification, if requested, in District-adopted behavior intervention/support system (e.g., Mandt, OIS, CPI, etc.).
Attends work regularly and is punctual.

PAY RANGE: $21.64 - $26.62 per hour

CONTRACT LENGTH: 183 days
START DATE: August 25, 2026
QUALIFICATIONS:
Completed 2 years of college or hold an Associate or higher degree, or successfully passed the local Paraprofessional Academic Assessment
Experience working in a behavior support program preferred
Bilingual preferred
