Position Overview
LVCS is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School English Language Arts Teacher to join our Pedee Middle School team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering literacy, critical thinking, and a love for literature and writing among students in grades 6–8. This position requires the ability to create engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards, assess student progress, and contribute positively to the school culture.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, prepare, and deliver ELA instruction aligned with state standards.
• Teach reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and literary analysis to middle school students.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
• Design and implement assessments to evaluate student progress and guide instruction.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth.
• Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance student learning and engagement.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Writing, English, Literature, or a related field (required).
• Valid Oregon teaching license with a middle school English Language Arts endorsement (or ability to obtain).
• Experience teaching middle school English Language Arts preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
