PAY: Pay for the 2025-26 school year ranges from $47,500 to $91,308.  Placement is dependent on verifiable experience and education level.  We also cover your PERS contribution.

Applicants would provide instruction based on district curriculum, which will allow students of the North Santiam School District to reach their potential for intellectual, physical, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation.

The District is willing to work with the right candidate who has an endorsement(s) in one or more of the subject areas listed in securing the other needed endorsements.  Applicants should have knowledge of GLAD/SIOP.

Applicants should have knowledge of Professional Learning Communities and be willing to work with team members to creates a dynamic learning environment for all students of the North Santiam School District. 

Current valid Oregon Teaching License with appropriate authorization level required
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of subject matter, to seek professional growth, improve classroom instruction Ability to demonstrate high standards of moral and ethical behavior and to serve as an effective role model
Regular attendance and punctuality
Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with students, parents, staff  and the community
Other qualifications as may be established by the school district
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and implement a program of study following state and district goals/curriculum that as much as possible meet the individual needs and development of students
Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals; establish clear objectives for all instructional units, projects and lessons to communicate these goals and objectives to students
Effective communication, oral and written, with students, staff, parents and the public
Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning
Establish and clarify acceptable standards for student behavior and demonstrate effective classroom management skills
Diagnose the needs and abilities of students and prescribe appropriate learning activities for each student
Assess the accomplishments of students regularly and maintain such records as required by law and District policy
Maintain excellence in instruction with a focus upon student outcome
Attentive to work detail
Utilize age-appropriate instructional strategies
Regular attendance and punctuality
Maintain a high level of ethical behavior
Familiarity with, and following of, established written standard operating procedures for specific responsibilities of this position
 Perform other duties assigned by the administration
North Santiam is a PBS District Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) focuses efforts on creating an environment that supports the educational environment.  PBS schools use school-wide and classroom positive reinforcement to promote expected behavior, teach behavioral expectations like academic skills, and use data-based information to guide intervention and management.
