Coburg Community Charter School is looking for an enthusiastic and student centered teacher to join our school community. CCCS is a small charter school with 1 class of 25 students per grade level, grades K-8. We are looking for someone who values and supports our ‘people first’ approach to developing and sustaining a comprehensive education program that does great things for kids. While a certified teacher is preferred, CCCS does have the ability to support a Charter Registry License for someone with the skills and experience necessary to excel in the role.
CCCS offers prospective educators a truly special school environment where the educators are empowered to teach, the families are involved and supportive of our staff, and our colleagues are intrinsically invested in keeping our school a great place to be. We recognize the value and importance of a work/school environment that is supportive and responsive to needs in the classroom, and as such our staff appreciates the freedom to “be a teacher” that is created here at CCCS.
This role provides the educator the unique opportunity to teach STEM, coordinate and collaborate with an amazing group of educators, and to work to some degree with all grade levels K-8. This is a new position for our school so some adjustments will inevitably be made; our tentative schedule suggests that this teacher will teach STEM units to K-5 students and a middle school elective 2 days a week, Tuesday and Thursday. The option to increase time to .5 FTE so as to include Friday afternoon collaboration time is an option as well.
This is a part time .4-.5 FTE position, working Tuesdays and Thursdays - perhaps Friday afternoons if the .5 option. Anticipated full year starting salary for a TSPC certified teacher is $16,848 - $21,060 depending on FTE allocation, experience and qualifications. Unfortunately our part time positions do not offer benefits other than PERS retirement once the employee qualifies. We do offer a robust mentoring program for new teachers, and a unique surplus sharing retention bonus for continuing employees.
Full background check and fingerprinting also required for those not already licensed in Oregon.
If you are interested in serving a school community in which you are empowered and expected to reach your full potential as an educator, we are interested in hearing from and getting to know you better. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact our executive director, Dave Wallace, at director@coburgcharter.org. We also encourage potential applicants to explore their professional and personal connections to learn about our school community - we expect you will hear great things.
To apply please send a resume, letter of interest, and three letters of recommendation to director@coburgcharter.org.
Due to the late nature of this posting, applications will be reviewed and preliminary interviews scheduled as they are received. If you may be great for this role please apply promptly.
